Fallout 4 Game Freezes When Saving: A Comprehensive Guide to Troubleshoot and Prevent It

Had multiple crashes during saves on Xbox One, I was saving at the tent, I did notice that all the items I had laying around on the ground floated up into the air and then the game froze. One of the free this happened on my very first save after the tutorial. The other is at happened after a few days of game.

Fallout 4 Game Freezes When Saving

Its happened in the last 3 play throughs for me but never happened before that - as far as I can work out the issue most likely began on an iteration of the game from late 2017/early 2018, running through in tdetect sorts it out - I can kill them as normal, save as normal and leave the cell as normal- If not using tdetect and the mole rats aggro on me the game freezes if I try to save or go through a load door.

The problem is Sim Settlements running too many scripts, breaks the mole rats/autosave/curie. Just go into mod configuration menu or use the SimSettlements holotape, performance tab. Set max scripts from either 10 (default) or 30 (max) to ZERO. Run the quest. If the mole rats are moving to attack you and the game is saving without freezing, the quest is working properly. Then set max scripts back to whatever it was when finished. Done. No need to uninstall scrap everything, sim settlements, other building mods, etc. Works also for Vault 88, haven't tried it yet at the Shamrock pub but I'll let you know if and when I get there.

- I started my game with all my current mods installed (including Scrap-Everything), but with the savegame I made when I had left Vault 111 for the first time. I went to Sanctuary Hills, did the tour with Codsworth and proceeded to Red Rocket, where I killed all the Molerats and cleaned out that cave underneath. No freeze.

So far so good, now I had to just prove the opposite. so I loaded my save from before I cleaned up some stuff at Red-Rocket. This time I made sure I scapped ALL the mole-mounds as well. Then I proceeded EXACTLY like above......and I didn't encounter any freezes or problems. Sigh..........However, when I first went into the Gamblers-Bunker without having reloaded the game, the mole-rats didn't trigger at all.

I had no graphics lag/freeze incidents until the day my Windows 10 update snooze expired. Oddly the freeze wasn't even when Windows checked for updates, but just somewhat randomly after that. I snoozed updates again and graphics lag/freezes ceased again.

The best thing you can do is disable all of your mods when a new version comes out or, if you're on PC, roll back your game version until the mods get updated. A unique SKSE mod has the ability to automatically back up your Skyrim.exe file in case an update happens to brick your playthrough.

- Check that box, and in the text box underneath (it lights up when you check the check box), add fallout3.exe. Do NOT use spaces, since ffdshow will think that's part of the filename. A valid entry would be explorer.exe;fallout3.exe.

If the game does not recognize your screen's resolution, launch the game with Game Launcher and check the Unity screen selector option to correct the resolution. This will give you a GUI in which you can select the correct screen when the game is started.

The game is known to segfault when opening the settings and possibly during or before playing. A workaround from the Steam discussions is to replace the game's RenderSystem_GL.so with one from Debian's repositories. To do that download this deb file, and extract it with dpkg:

If the game appears as Running, then syncs and closes when you launch it from Steam, try creating a steam_appid.txt in the game directorycontaining 261640. This should resolve the issue and let you start the game directly from the game directory. If that does not work, try using the steam-native-runtime.

When running on 64-bit Arch Linux, there may be "pops and hisses" when running Dynamite Jack. This could be caused by not having STEAM_RUNTIME=0 set. (However, even with STEAM_RUNTIME=0 set, the game may still sometimes start with this issue. Exiting and restarting the game seems to make the problem go away.)

When in game, you are stuck in your bed as you cannot move your character or you cannot enter text into the input fields when starting a new game. This is a bug with the SDL2 lib bundled with the game.

If the game resolution is wrong when using a dual monitor setup and you cannot see the whole window edit /.frozenbyte/Trine2/options.txt and change the options ForceFullscreenWidth and ForceFullscreenHeight to the resolution of your monitor on which you want to play the game.

When running through Steam a startup option must be set or the War Thunder Launcher will not auto-close when the game exits. Doing so will prevent it from being reported as the running game on the Steam Community, and more importantly running up CPU and RAM usage in the background. Put XMODIFIERS="" %command% in the Launch Options/Parameters of War Thunder on Steam.

Often regarded as one of the best RPG games by Bethesda, Fallout 4 is notoriously rich in features and offers a next-gen modding system that has an extended line of a fanbase. The mods are in unlimited quantity and can completely revamp the game. These mods might sound fluent, but in actuality, they cause havoc of problems, and most commonly are behind the common phrase, fallout 4 keeps crashing.

Fallout 4 is known for being notorious when it comes to the support of new hardware. The game runs immensely bad on older hardware, and this gets further expanded by outdated drivers that do not help but worsen the situation. Suppose you want the game to run at High FPS and not crash at all. Then, the wise thing to do would be to update all drivers.

The most important and unnoticed feature that could be potentially causing your Fallout 4 to crash is excessive hardware temperatures. These are most commonly associated with newer Graphics Card, that have fan speeds turned to Auto, and they only run when the Hardware hits a certain threshold. Once it does, the Graphic Card fans automatically begin to spin, but at this point, the game has already crashed.

After some time, when i press the tilde button, the console command is not showing up. I tried to restart the game and even the PC itself. i also tried to set the control to defaults, but none of them are working. Anyone know how to fix this?

So my housemates and I have been playing fallout on the ps4. After I made a character today, none of the other characters show up in the load screen! If you look at all saves you can go a bit farther back still and load, but not all the games are there. Any ideas? My roomies are going to be pissed if I somehow deleted their games.

Hey, sorry if this was mentioned in the solutions but I have a problem. My resolution is 1600 x 1200. There is no option for this in the Options menu when you first start up the game so I just went full screen. When the game launched and I came to the main menu, the start game, load, options were all out of sync with the green background (Picture: )

hi i desperately need help. I have a problem . when i start my fallout 4 it loads up to the menu screen like normal but when i start a new game ,the minute i start it,all the world becomes all glitch and everything because it all like missing textures.literly i cant see anything because the missing textures get in the way. 2ff7e9595c
